I concur that "Kantor" best describes the role of a church musician. It will take some teaching, though, for many congregations to accept and or consider that title since it is unknown to them. Also, if your church musician is the worship leader, what is the function of your pastor, then? Properly understood, Kantor is the best term because it encompasses all of what a church musician does.
