For those who are technically oriented or interested in starting their own blog:

1. I use WordPress – The best self-hosted blogging platform available.  If you are just starting out blogging, I would recommend WordPress.com – a fine and free hosted blogging platform.
2. This site is hosted by WPWebHost – a hosting company specializing in servers configured for WordPress blogs.
3. There are A LOT of WordPress themes available for your use.  I’ve been using the Frugal Theme since I took the self-hosting leap and am very satisfied with the flexibility, features, support, and periodic upgrades. It’s a premium theme (meaning you pay for it), but it is well worth the expense.
